About Allyson Gale

"Challenging people;changing lives."

Originally trained as a Biomedical Scientist, Allyson later moved into Management, Quality Assurance, and Training & Development. A former Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and also former Associate of the Institute of Personnel and Development, she spent 26 years in the NHS, progressing from junior scientist to Deputy Head of a Quality Assurance Laboratory.

Throughout her career she was actively involved in training; initially in the theory and practice of Transfusion Science, moving on to Total Quality Management (TQM) including team-building and customer service. She also went on to design and deliver 'Train the Trainer' programmes to all levels of staff, including senior management.

Ten years ago, health problems, related to a pituitary tumour, caused Allyson to rethink her career and in 2000-1 she trained as a Life Coach with the then Portsmouth-based Coaching Academy, where she graduated with Distinction. She now works as a Life Coach and trainer, helping people to make positive changes in their lives.

For eight years, between 1998 and 2006, Allyson also worked as a volunteer, running a local support group for the Pituitary Foundation, a national charity for people with disorders of the pituitary gland. In this role she was able to use her own experiences, together with her coaching skills, to help other patients and carers. In addition to this, she has run several coaching-based workshops for the charity, at national level, and now writes a coaching column for their national magazine, Pituitary Life.
